Know the Format: The format of the test is always the same. 60 Multiple Choice Questions in 45 minutes. There are 4 Free Response Questions, with a total of 100 minutes to complete them.
Know the Major Hitting Points: Incumbency Advantage, Federalism, Minority Voting, Divided Governments, Civil Rights and Civil Liberties.
How to Study: DO NOT go over and over information you know well. It is easy and tempting to review the same material again and again, because we are naturally attracted to what we know. If you dedicate too much time to one topic, it can drastically hurt how well you do on in-class exams. To study, good ideas include Crash Course videos and paper notes, Quizlet stacks, and reading Edwards/Krieger faithfully, as it is assigned. Do not skip your assignment thinking it will not hurt you. The burning house will fall in, and you will die.
You need to know that this class is not easy. You shouldn't look for easy. You should look for worth it. And if you apply yourself, it WILL be worth it.
